being inspired & springtime flower sugar cookies

Today's high of 55ºF and the talents of Lizy B totally inspired me to create my last order for springtime flower sugar cookies.

I am often blown away by so many creatives and Elizabeth of Lizy B just blew my mind with her beautiful florals that I thought I'd give it a go with my very own. 

I cut out small circles of dough for the center of each flower cookie, filled it with royal icing with matching pollen dots.

Each flower sugar cookie gets bagged, heat-sealed, and tied with a spring colored ribbon.

I was super excited when this order for bridal shower cookies came across my Inbox from a repeat client. Thanks Courtney!!!

Icing cookies with pure white royal icing is always tricky. You never know when a speck of dust can come flying over and land on your cookies while they're drying OR worse when the icing dries antique white. Trust me, I speak from sad cookie experiences......

But I think I got it right this time!!! 

What I'm loving most about these cookies is that each one is completely different. Party guests can choose a dress that suits them best.

Simple designs of lines, dots, bows, pleats and ruffles.....

bridal shower cookie cake favors

The base and middle layers of the cookie cakes were stacked in stacks of two cookies, outlined with white royal icing, and then flooded with pink and orange royal icing.

The top part of the cookie cakes were assembled in the same way, but decorated slightly different.

Once dried, the layers were stacked like little cakes.

The cookie cakes were individually wrapped and tied with natural baker's string. A perfect favor for a vintage-themed bridal shower.
