an ombré cake & baby shower cookie favors

A gradation of teal blue sugar paste petals were made to adorn the outside of this vanilla cake with raspberry filling and lemon curd buttercream…..

What to say when you don't know if it's a girl or a boy???

A baby shower is never complete without onesie cookies!!!

Of course each of them get individually bagged and tied with ribbon.

And to continue with the elephant theme, more elephants with pink and blue toes. Hee hee.

emoji emoticon cookies

I just love when a client requests something that I've never made before. This special order was for an Emoji emoticon cookie for Valentine's Day treats. A cute little tag was then tied around the bagged cookie that said, "You make me smile." Don't they???

I used yellow fondant and royal icing to glue them onto the tops of the cookies.

Not much royal icing was used to decorate the cookies but I did need a little black icing for the eyes and happy smile.

Lastly, using a q-tip and pink lustre dust, I applied the blush.

moroccan elephant sugar cookies

I've been too busy with another major project that I'm missing baking in my kitchen. A couple of weeks ago I was able to squeeze in a special order for these Moroccan elephant baby shower cookies. Hands down one of my favorite designs ever!

lions & monkeys & it's a boy, oh my!!!

When a repeat client (and friend) requested jungle themed baby shower cookies for her sister's shower, I immediately found inspiration to make these cookies on Pinterest. Although I have to admit that the cookie artist behind the originals blew doors on my cookies. But hey, not bad for the first time. Right?

Now I don't always have the "right" cutter and the last thing I want to do is to buy more. So for these adorable elephants I used an oval for the head, two circles for the ears, and the bottom of a number 3 to create the elephant's trunk.

The monkey's head is a little out of proportion and thinking back I would have cut it out differently. But here I used the oval again and more circles.

The lion was easy.  I just used a flower cookie cutter.

I had major royal icing drying drama and had to "disguise" (more like hide) some of my mistakes. I re-piped the eyes on the elephants and monkeys (twice) and had to use fondant to cover the lion's face.

I was winging it and making it work!!!

A few monstera leaves for color….

And a few "it's a boy!" cookies never hurt either.

cookies for addyson's baptism

Little Addyson will be baptized tomorrow and all of her guests will receive a favor honoring her special day!!!

Each favor was adorned with a cross on top of a cross cookie.

Simple dots, lines, and curly squiggles make the most elegant designs, in my opinion.

All cookies were individually bagged, tied with ribbon, & labeled with hand written tags.
