A new client of mine recently gave birth to her third child and as a "thank you" to her doctor and staff she asked me to make some decorated sugar cookies. Because who doesn't love cookies? Excited to create such a sweet gift, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to make Humpty Dumpty again. He's just so cute!!!
The cookie package had a baby theme of course so there had to be baby bottles…..
Elephants and ducks to tie the blue and yellow theme together…..
The letter "H" for baby Henry…..
And most importantly "thank you" cookies…..

princess themed cookies for gabriella's 5th birthday
I LOVE it when an element from the occasion/party completely inspires me!!! In this case Gabriella's 5th birthday invite had cuteness all over it!!!
I admit that some of the graphics were easier to copy than others but I did my best to pipe them on point!!!
These decorated sugar cookies are being given out as party favors so naturally they get bagged and tied with girly-pink ribbon.

a sofia the first birthday cake
I try and avoid making fondant tiered cakes because they're really not my jam. BUT when a neighborhood friend asks me to make her daughter's first birthday cake I just couldn't say no. So after a couple of sleepless nights and an early morning, just like that, there is a cake!
I had no idea who Sofia The First was and honestly still don't. Luckily Google had many images of her and her cast mates and Amazon provided me with the plastic figurines.
Because I don't create these kind of cakes on a regular basis, I can be a little rusty. Especially with rolling out fondant!!! Please don't look too closely to the imperfections. I even attempted to do a quilting technique using a small square cookie cutter.
I used small flower-shaped fondant cutters to cut out the flowers for the top tier of the cake and to embellish the other tiers. Then I simply finished each flower off with a little royal icing in the center.
Happy

Birthday
Sofia!!!

sushi rice krispie treats
THIS is sushi rice krispie treats!!! Can you handle it???
Vanilla white fondant was shaped into shrimp and dusted with edible colored powder for the Ebi…..
To create the Tamago, Sake, Maguro, & Toro, I microwaved Starbursts Fruit Chews and shaped them to mimic the actual fish & egg pieces. A little strip of black fondant finished the look of the Tamago.
For the rolls I rolled Fruit Roll-Ups inside the rice krispie treats and sour apple rope to look like asparagus. More black fondant was used for the nori.
I am a total sucker for details so it was a MUST to package them in take-away sushi containers.

a go-to-gift for kids!!!
We don't have kids (but we have many in our extended group of families and friends) so we're always wondering what to get them when it comes to their birthdays. A few years back I opened up my Etsy shop and started making faux baked goods as a nod to my real baked goods and also birthday buddies which is my version of a birthday card. And now this combination is one of my go-to-gifts for kids. I'll be adding this combo to my Etsy shop soon!!!
There are just a few party animals that I turn into birthday buddies. I'm beginning to customize them a little more with party hats, tutus, & crowns.
Along with the birthday buddy comes (12) delicious vanilla sugar cookies in the shape of their name, favorite color, and or characters. This little girl loves anything pink and princess-like.
While this little boy loved firetrucks.
Seems like forever, but a favorite from years ago. Thomas The Train…..
